During AEP today, we focused on Team Building--Teams worked together to accomplish goals, even if they were a bit silly! Students got resourceful and lived up to the Tennis Ball challenge!

Congratulations to Jennifer Boldt, Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Gretna Aspen Creek Middle School. Mrs. Boldt is a very skilled educator. She started her career as a vocal music teacher. After accepting the position of MS FCS teacher at ACMS, she decided to pursue her Master’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education at UNL. She was nominated for and was one of two students recently selected for a fellowship supported by Dr. Gwendolyn A. Newkirk, a distinguished leader in Family and Consumer Sciences field and a trailblazer in the history of FCS discipline both at UNL and nationally. Jennifer is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, taking classes for her Master’s degree and knocking it out of the park as a teacher at ACMS. Mrs. Boldt is an amazing person. We are honored and proud to have Mrs. Boldt on our staff at Gretna Public Schools.

7th-grade science class had a spooky day experimenting with sublimation during their Dry Ice Lab. Students compared hot vs cold water with the rate of sublimation in a race to blow up balloons using dry ice.

Today Superintendent Lightle stepped into a new role as school bus driver. From elementary to high school, students were surprised to see him behind the wheel. Our elementary students showed their approval with big smiles and a thumbs up. It was a wonderful reminder that leadership means being ready to help wherever needed. Thank you to Superintendent Lightle and all of our dedicated staff who make sure students arrive safely every day. #BeGretnaGreat
